Frequently asked questions

Does this work for a menu that isn't tacos?

Yes. The menu is data, not code — packages, per-guest items, choices and add-ons. A BBQ tray service or a sandwich caterer edits the same four lists and the pricing works identically. The sample menu is a starting point, not a template you're stuck with.

How is the delivery fee calculated?

A flat base fee covers a set radius, then a fixed amount is added per additional distance started. All four numbers are yours to set, and each location can override them. Distance uses real driving miles, not straight-line distance, which typically reads several miles short.

What happens to a saved quote if I raise my prices later?

Nothing. A quote you've sent keeps the total the customer was given. Only drafts re-price against the current menu — your customer is holding a document with a number on it, and that number shouldn't move.

What is the prep sheet?

The same order seen from the kitchen: meat volume, salsa bar, tortillas, pans, chafing racks, sternos, and a prep timeline anchored to your serving time. It's a pull sheet for already-prepped product, so every quantity is in volume and counts rather than raw weight.

Can I override a number the kitchen sheet calculated?

Any setup figure — pans, racks, sternos. The calculated value stays visible next to yours, and the printed sheet marks the row 'set by hand' so the kitchen knows it was deliberate.
