What URL should I put on the QR code?
Whatever you want guests to land on. Common picks: your online menu, a reservation booking page, your Google Reviews page, your job application form, or your Instagram. The QR will encode whatever you paste in.
Can I generate a QR code that goes to a phone number or email?
Yes. Use 'tel:+15555551212' for a phone number that auto-dials when scanned, or 'mailto:hello@example.com' to open an email composer. SMS works as 'sms:+15555551212'.
What size should my QR code be?
For table tents and door signs, the medium 5x5 inch size scans reliably from 2-3 feet. Use the large 7x7 inch size for window displays where guests scan from across the sidewalk. Small 3x3 is for receipts and business cards where the phone is held close.
Will the QR code work after the URL changes?
Only if you control the URL. The QR encodes the link directly, so if you change your menu URL the old QR codes become dead. For frequently-changing destinations, route through a stable URL you control (your homepage with a redirect, for example).
